December 02, 2011 Game 24: Wild Trash Devils 4-2
The New Jersey Devils lost 2-4 to the Wild in Minnesota on
Friday, December 2, 2011.
Zach Parise beat Niklas Backstrom just 2:54 into the first period
to give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Andy Greene and Adam Henrique assisted on
Parise's seventh goal of the season.
Dany Heatley scored on Martin Brodeur just 20 seconds after
Parise's goal to tie the game, 1-1. Kyle Brodziak scored at 6:55 to
make it 2-1. Casey Wellman's goal at 8:17 caused Johan Hedberg to be
brought in to relieve Brodeur of netminding duty.
Ilya Kovalchuk scored his sixth goal of the season at 13:59 to
cut the Wild lead to a single goal. Zach Parise was credited with the
only assist on Kovalchuk's goal.
Josh Harding started the second period in net for the Wild.
Hedberg remained in the Devils net.
Kyle Brodziak beat Johan Hedberg at 16:24 of the third period to
seal the Wild's victory.
