The New Jersey Devils skated to a 3-2 overtime victory in Atlanta
over the Thrashers on Friday, March 11, 2011.
Neither team scored in the first period, in which the Devils
outshot the Thrashers 11-5.
Blake Wheeler beat Martin Brodeur at 10:14 of the second
Travis Zajac scored a 5 on 3 power-play goal at 12:27 to even the
game 1-1. Zajac's 11th goal of the season was assisted by Patrik Elias
and Brian Rolston.
Dustin Byfuglien was credited with a goal after Marty Brodeur was
wiped out on a power-play at 4:52 of the third period.
A power-play goal from Ilya Kovalchuk again tied the game at
7:51. Nick Palmieri and Mark Fayne assisted on Kovalchuk's 25th goal of
