March 06, 2011 Game 65: Devils BEAT Islanders: 3-2 SHOOTOUT
The New Jersey Devils were victorious 3-2 in a shootout over the
Islanders on Long Island on Sunday, March 6, 2011.
Brian Rolston broke the scoreless tie and gave the Devils a 1-0
lead with a goal that beat Al Montoya at 4:09 of the second period. Ilya
Kovalchuk and Travis Zajac assisted on Rolston's 12th goal of the
season.
Josh Bailey beat Martin Brodeur at 17:00 of the second period
to tie the game, 1-1.
Ilya Kovalchuk scored 2:52 into the third period to make it a
2-1 New Jersey lead. Kovalchuk's 24th goal of the season was assisted
by Jacob Josefson and Anton Volchenkov.
Blake Comeau scored at 16:18 to again tie the game.
