January 22, 2010 Game 49: Habs Beat Devs 3-1
The New Jersey Devils lost 1-3 at home to the Montreal
Canadiens on Friday, January 22, 2010.
Zach Parise put the puck into the Montreal goal at 5:16 of the
first period to give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Jamie Langenbrunner and Mike
Mottau assisted on Parise's 21st goal of the season.
Benoit Pouliot put the puck past Martin Brodeur at 16:10 to tie
the game, 1-1.
The first period ended with the game tied, 1-1. The Habs
outshot the Devils 14-12 in the period.
Mathieu Darche added a goal for Montreal at 4:35 of the second
period.
The Devils outshot the Canadiens 6-5 in the second period, which
ended with Montreal leading 2-1.
Michael Cammalleri made it 3-1 Montreal with a goal at 11:53 of
the third period.
The Devils outshot the Canadiens 14-5 in the third period, but
the game ended with Montreal winning 3-1.
