January 11, 2009 Game 42: Ducks Beat Devils 4-3
The New Jersey Devils lost 3-4 to the Ducks in Anaheim on Sunday,
January 11, 2009.
A goal from Bobby Holik at 12:53 of the first period, gave the
Devils a 1-0 lead. Jay Pandolfo and Mike Mottau assisted on Holik's
second goal of the season.
Bobby Ryan beat Scott Clemmensen at 15:21 to tie the game, 1-1.
Samuel Pahlsson gave the Ducks a 2-1 with a goal at 19:51.
The Ducks outshot the Devils 11-4 in the first period, which
ended with the Ducks leading 2-1.
David Clarkson tied the game with a power-play goal at 16:56.
Clarkson's sixth goal of the season was assisted by Brian Rolston and
Dainius Zubrus.
The second period ended with the teams tied, 2-2. The
Ducks outshot the Devils 14-6 in the period.
Chris Kunitz scored just 1:36 into the third period and again at
16:27 to give the Ducks a 4-2 lead.
Zach Parise gave the Devils hope with a goal at 19:29, but the
team was unable to score again before the final buzzer sounded. Parise's
24th goal of the season was assisted by Travis Zajac and Brian Gionta.
