The New Jersey Devils defeated the Lightning, 7-3 in Tampa Bay on
Sunday, November 23, 2008.
Mike Rupp scored his first goal of the season just 1:44 into the
first period. The goal that beat Olaf Kolzig was assisted by Anssi
Salmela and David Clarkson.
The Devils took a 2-0 lead with a goal from Zach Parise at 17:37.
Jay Leach and Anssi Salmela assisted on Parise's 13th goal of the
season.
The first period ended with New Jersey leading Tampa Bay, 2-0.
