November 28, 2007 Game 24: Devils Score 4 Unanswered, Defeat Stars 4-2
The New Jersey Devils defeated the Dallas Stars 4-2 in New Jersey
on Wednesday, November 28, 2007. The win increased the Devils winning
streak to five games.
Stu Barnes beat Martin Brodeur at 10:42 - a shorthanded goal that
gave Dallas a 1-0 lead. Jussi Jokinen made it 2-0 Stars with a goal at
13:40.
The first period ended with the Stars leading the Devils 2-0 -
the Devils outshot the Stars 10-7 in the period.
David Clarkson got the Devils on the board with a goal that beat
Marty Turco at 8:52 of the second period. Clarkson's third goal of the
season was assisted by John Madden and Dainius Zubrus.
Brian Gionta scored at 18:48 to tie the game, 2-2. Patrik
Elias and Zach Parise assisted on Gionta's eighth goal of the season.
The second period ended with the game tied, 2-2. The Stars
outshot the Devils 10-8 in the period.
Dainius Zubrus gave the Devils their first lead of the game with
a goal at 10:57 of the third period. Jamie Langenbrunner assisted on
Zubrus' fifth goal of the season.
Zach Parise sealed the Devils win with an empty net goal with 17
seconds remaining. Parise's ninth goal of the season was assisted by
Brian Gionta and John Madden.
