April 14, 2007 R1 Game 2: Lightning Even Series, Beat Devils 3-2 in NJ
The New Jersey Devils lost 2-3 at home to the Tampa Bay Lightning
for Game 2 of Round 1 of the 2007 Stanley Cup Playoffs on Saturday, April 14,
2007. The loss tied the best-of-seven series 1-1.
Filip Kuba beat Martin Brodeur with a short-handed goal at 9:04
to give Tampa Bay a 1-0 lead.
Zach Parise put the puck past Johan Holmqvist at 18:11 on a
power-play to tie the game, 1-1. Brian Rafalski and Jamie Langenbrunner
assisted on Parise's third goal of the post-season.
The Lightning outshot the Devils 9-7 in the first period, which
ended with the game tied, 1-1.
Jamie Langenbrunner scored a 5 on 3 power-play goal at 16:19 of
the second period to give New Jersey a 2-1 lead.   Brian Gionta and Patrik
Elias assisted on Langenbrunner's first goal of the playoffs.
Martin St. Louis tied the game with a goal that beat Brodeur with
just 49 seconds remaining in the second period.
The second period ended with the game tied, 2-2. The
Devils outshot the Lightning 18-5 in the period.
1:42 into the third period Vincent Lecavalier scored to give
Tampa Bay a 3-2 lead.
The Lightning outshot the Dvils 11-6 in the third period.
