The New Jersey Devils won 2-1 at home in a shootout, over the
Ottawa Senators on Tuesday, April 3, 2007.
The Devils outshot the Senators 10-9 in the first period, which
Neither team was able to score in the second period, in which the
Devils outshot the Senators 11-7.
John Madden gave the Devils a 1-0 lead with a goal that beat Ray
Emery at 10:15 of the third period. Brian Rafalski and Jay Pandolfo
assisted on Madden's 10th goal of the season.
Daniel Alfredsson tied the game with a goal that beat Martin
Brodeur just 21 seconds after Madden's goal.
The shots were 6-6 in the third period which ended with the game
tied, 1-1 - sending it to overtime. Neither team scored in the overtime,
forcing a shootout.
