March 27, 2007 Game 76: Devils Beat Islanders 3-2
The New Jersey Devils defeated the Islanders 3-2 in New York
on Tuesday, March 27, 2007.
Zach Parise beat Mike Dunham at 6:11 of the first period on a
power-play to give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Travis Zajac and Sergei Brylin
assisted on Parise's 30th goal of the season.
The Devils outshot the Islanders 13-4 in the first period, which
ended with the Devils leading, 1-0.
Scott Gomez scored at 5:20 of the second period to increase the
Devils lead to two goals. Patrik Elias and Johnny Oduya assisted on
Gomez's 12th goal of the season.
Alexei Yashin got the Islanders with a power-play goal that beat
Martin Brodeur at 10:20 of the second period.
The Islanders outshot the Devils 13-12 in the second period, but
the Devils led 2-1 when the period ended.
nbsp; David Clarkson added a power-play goal at 4:44 of the third period
to give the Devils a 3-1 lead. Clarkson's third goal of the season was
assisted by Jamie Langenbrunner and Brian Rafalski.
Jason Blake got the Islanders back within one goal when he scored
at 13:39.
