October 28, 2006 Game 11: Devils Beat Blue Jackets 1-0
The New Jersey Devils shutout the Columbus Blue Jackets 1-0 at
home on Saturday, October 28, 2006. The second of back-to-back shutouts
was the 83rd of Martin Brodeur's career.
There were no goals scored in the first period. The shots
were even, 8-8 in the period.
Zach Parise put the puck past Pascal Leclaire with a wraparound
shot at 14:05 of the second period to give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Travis
Zajac and Brian Rafalski assisted on Parise's fifth goal of the season.
The second period ended with the Devils leading, 1-0. The
Devils outshot the Blue Jackets 10-4 in the second period.
There were no goals scored in the third period, the Devils won
the game, 1-0. Columbus outshot New Jersey 10-3 in the third period and
22-21 in the game.
