April 19, 2004 Igor Larionov Retires
Igor Larionov announced his retirement from the NHL on Monday,
April 19, 2004. Larionov was the oldest player (43) to see action in the
2003-2004 season.
Larionov signed with the Devils as a free agent in the off-season
with the hope of picking up a fourth Stanley Cup ring. Just two days
after the Devils were eliminated from the playoffs, the veteran announced that
it was his last season.
