March 01, 2004 Devils Acquire Viktor Kozlov for Berglund and Uchevatov
The New Jersey Devils announced that they had traded Christian
Berglund and Albany River Rat defenseman Victor Uchevatov to the Florida
Panthers. The trade on March 1, 2004 brought forward Viktor Kozlov to
New Jersey.
The major players involved in the trade, both Berglund and
Kozlov, are injured and are not expected to face their former teams when they
meet on Wednesday in Florida.
Though there was much speculation and rumor-spreading by the
media and fans, Lou Lamoriello again managed to surprise all by making a deal
completely off the radar.
