November 21, 2003 Game 18: Devils Extend Streak: Beat Penguins, 2-1 in OT
The New Jersey Devils beat the Pittsburgh Penguins, 2-1 at home
in overtime on Friday, November 21, 2003. The Devils unbeaten streak now
stands at 11 games as they head out West on a four game road trip.
Patrik Elias beat Marc-Andre Fleury just 3:45 of the first period
with a nice shot to give the Devils an early 1-0 lead. Elias' fourth
goal of the season was assisted by Christian Berglund and Scott
Niedermayer.
The Devils outplayed the Penguins, outshooting them 14-5 in the
first period, which came to a close with the Devils leading 1-0. Patrik
Elias led all players with 5 shots on goal in the period.
