November 19, 2003 Game 17: Devils Beat Sabres, 4-1. Unbeaten in 10
The New Jersey Devils defeated the Buffalo Sabres, 4-1 on
Wednesday, November 19, 2003. The win extended the Devils unbeaten
streak to 10 games.
Scott Gomez recorded his second goal of the season at 9:40 of the
first period, when he deflected a Scott Stevens shot past Martin Biron.
The first period came to a close with the Devils outshooting the
Sabres, 13-5, and leading them 1-0.
Jay Pandolfo scored 5:11 into the second period to give the
Devils a 2-0 lead. Pandolfo's fifth goal of the season was assisted by
John Madden and Scott Stevens.
Brian Gionta scored his fouth goal of the season unassisted, just
1:45 after Pandolfo's goal, to make it a 3-0 lead.
John Madden capped the Devils scoring in the second period by
putting the puck past Biron at 9:25. Madden's second goal of the season
was assisted by Christian Berglund and Patrik Elias.
