November 13, 2003 Game 15: Devils Beat Panthers, 3-1
The New Jersey Devils defeated the Florida Panthers, 3-1 at home
on Thursday, November 13, 2003.
There was no scoring in the third period, though the Devils
thoroughly dominated the Panthers, outshooting them 11-2.
Patrik Elias beat Roberto Luongo at 6:22 of the second period, on
the power-play to give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Elias' third goal of the
season was assisted by Brian Rafalski and Scott Niedermayer.
Brian Gionta blasted the puck through Luongo's legs with an
incredible shot at 13:23 of the second period. Jeff Friesen was credited
with the only assist on Gionta's third goal of the season.
Jay Pandolfo gave the Devils a 3-0 lead at 15:56 with his third
goal of the season, assisted by Jamie Langenbrunner.
Stephen Weiss cut the Devils lead, beating Brodeur, with only 53
seconds remaining in the period.
