February 27, 2002 Flyers Beat Devils 1-0
The New Jersey Devils were defeated 1-0 at home by the
Flyers on February 27, 2002.
The first period was scoreless, but the Flyers outshot the
Devils 11-7 in the period. The Devils lost Andrei Zyuzin in the
period - Zyuzin blocked a shot and had to leave the game.
The Devils lost Scott Niedermayer early in the second
period when he was involved in a 3 player collision and had to be helped
off the ice. This injury left the Devils with only 4 defensemen.
Simon Gagne beat John Vanbiesbrouck at 7:59 of the second
period to give the Flyers a 1-0 lead.
The second period ended with the Flyers leading the Devils,
1-0. The Flyers outshot the Devils 12-5 in the period.
The third period had no scoring. The Devils outshot
the Flyers 10-7 in the period, but lost the game, 1-0.
