The New Jersey Devils defeated the Montreal Canadiens, 5-2
at home on Friday, April 12, 2002. The game was the Devils last
regular-season home game and was Fan Appreciation Night.
John Madden beat Stephane Fiset (his first NHL game in
over a year), at 17:34 of the first period. Madden's 14th goal of
the season was assisted by Brian Gionta and Tommy Albelin. It was
the second goal in two nights for Madden.
