The New Jersey Devils lost 4-5 in a shootout to the Lightning in
Tampa on Friday, March 29, 2013.
Andrei Loktionov put the puck behind Mathieu Garon at 5:50 of the
second period to give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Loktionov's seventh goal of
the season was assited by Matt D'Agostini and Andy Greene. D'Agostini's
assist was his first point as a Devil.
Tom Kostopoulos scored a penalty shot goal at 6:41 to give the
Devils a 2-0 lead.
Steven Stamkos got Tampa on the board with a goal that beat
Martin Brodeur at 8:00 of the second period. Nate Thompson tied the
game with a goal at 10:26.
Andy Greene added a power-play goal at 13:58 to get the lead for
New Jersey again. Matt D'Agostini and Marek Zidlicky assisted on
Greene's third goal of the season.
Ryan Carter scored short-handed 2:39 into the third period to
make it a 4-2 Devils lead. Carter's fourth goal of the season was scored
Stamkos scored his second goal of the game at 7:11 to cut the
Devils lead to a single goal.
Tampa pulled Garon, and with the extra skater, Alex Killorn tied
the game with just 16 seconds remaining in regulation time.
