March 10, 2013 Game 26: Devs Hang On To Win 3-2 Over Jets in Shootout
The New Jersey Devils skated to a 3-2 shootout victory at home
over the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday, March 10, 2013.
The Devils scored first in a game for the first time in quite
some time when Ryan Carter beat Ondrej Pavelec at 8:47 of the first period.
Travis Zajac and Anton Volchenkov assisted on Carter's third goal of
the season.
Stephen Gionta made it a 2 goal Devils lead with a great shot at
10:12. Ilya Kovalchukand Adam Larsson assisted on Gionta's third goal
of the season.
Winnipeg got themselves on the board when Mark Stuart beat Johan
Hedberg at 16:17.
Evander Kane tied the game with a goal at 17:19 of the second
period. Regulation time and overtime ended with the game still tied,
forcing a shootout.
Patrik Elias scored for the Devils, while Johan Hedberg stopped
all three Jets shots.
