The New Jersey Devils skated to a 4-3 overtime victory at home
over the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday, May 3, 2012. The Devils now
have a 2-1 series lead in their Stanley Cup Semi-Finals matchup.
Brayden Schenn beat Martin Brodeur on a power-play at 6:08 of
the first period to give Philadelphia a 1-0 lead.
Patrik Elias tied the game with a power-play goal that beat Ilya
Bryzgalov at 12:33. Marek Zidlicky and Ilya Kovalchuk assisted on Elias'
third goal of the playoffs.
Ilya Kovalchuk gave the Devls a 2-1 lead with a goal just 20
seconds after the Elias goal. Kovalchuk's fourth goal of the post-season
was assisted by Travis Zajac and Alexei Ponikarovsky.

Regulation time ended with the game still tied. Alexei
Ponikarovsky ended the game with the winning goal at 17:21 of the first
overtime! Ilya Kovalchuk was credited with Ponikarovsky's first goal
of the post-season.
