R1 Game 5: Panthers Shutout Devils 3-0

    The New Jersey Devils lost 0-3 to the Panthers in Florida on Saturday, April 21, 2012.

    Kris Versteeg beat Martin Brodeur at 4:00 of the second period to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead.   Scottie Upshall made it 2-0 at 13:17 of the third period, when he took advantage of Brodeur having to wait for the puck to enter the trapezoid.   Tomas Kopecky was credited with an empty net goal at 19:26 when Ilya Kovalchuk robbed him on the way to the net.
