The New Jersey Devils lost 3-6 to the Flames in Calgary on
Tuesday, January 10, 2012.
Jay Boumeester (5:54) and Cory Sarich (7:32) beat Martin Brodeur,
which led to Hedberg taking to the net in relief. Curtis Glencross
(13:12) and TJ Brodie (16:38 on a power-play), then beat Johan Hedberg before
the first intermission.
The Devils finally got on the board with a goal from Ilya
Kovalchuk that beat Miikka Kiprusoff at 14:48 of the second period. Adam
Henrique and Zach Parise assisted on Kovalchuk's 16th goal of the
Lee Stempniak make it 5-1 Calgary with a goal at 16:38.
Adam Henrique scored a short-handed goal at 17:24 of the third
period to cut the Flames lead to three goals. Zach Parise and Adam
Larsson assisted on Henrique's 13th goal of the season.
Patrik Elias added a power-play goal at 6:04 of the third period
to get the Devils within 2 goals, but Jarome Iginla would add the last goal of
the game 2:45 later. Elias' 15th goal of the season was assisted by
Ilya Kovalchuk and Kurtis Foster.
The Flames scored 6 goals on just 14 shots in the game.
