January 02, 2012 Game 38: Senators Beat Devils 2-3 Overtime
The New Jersey Devils lost 2-3 to the Senators in Ottawa on
Monday, January 2, 2012.
Dainius Zubrus scored the first goal of the game, beating Craig
Anderson at 7:47 of the second period. Zubrus' 11th goal of the season
was assisted by Petr Sykora.
A goal at 14:18 from David Clarkson made it 2-0 New Jersey.
Mattias Tedenby and Travis Zajac assisted on Clarkson's 14th goal of the
season.
Jason Spezza beat Martin Brodeur at 1:21 of the third period to
get the Senators on the board and cut the Devils lead to a single goal.
A short-handed goal from Erik Condra at 13:17 tied the game, 2-2.
Daniel Alfredsson scored a power-play goal at the 4:00 mark of
the overtime to win the game for Ottawa.
