December 28, 2011 Game 36: Sykora & Devils Beat Sabres 3-1
The New Jersey Devils defeated the Buffalo Sabres 3-1 at the
Prudential Center on Wednesday, December 28, 2011.
Petr Sykora gave the Devils a 1-0 lead when he beat Ryan Miller
at 9:52 of the first period. Sykora's ninth goal of the season was
assisted by Patrik Elias and Martin Brodeur.
1:26 into the second period, Sykora scored his second goal of the
game to give New Jersey a 2-0 lead. Patrik Elias and Anton Volchenkov
assisted on the goal.
Zach Parise's 12th goal of the season gave the Devils a 3 goal
lead at 6:55. Mark Fayne and Adam Henrique assisted on the goal.
Thomas Vanek wrecked Martin Brodeur's shutout bid at 7:41 on a
power-play to get Buffalo on the board.
