November 23, 2011Game 20: Devils Beat Blue Jackets 2-1 in Shootout
The New Jersey Devils skated to a 2-1 shootout victory at home
over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday, November 23, 2011.
Dainius Zubrus was honored at the beginning of the game for
playing in his 1000th career NHL game while the Devils were on their road trip.
At 4:09 of the second period, he scored the first goal of the game,
beating Curtis Sanford to give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Adam Larsson and
Patrik Elias assisted on Zubrus' seventh goal of the season.
Jared Boll scored on Martin Brodeur at 6:01 of the third period
to tie the game.
Regulation time and overtime ended with the teams still tied,
forcing a shootout. Ilya Kovalchuk and Zach Parise scored shootout
goals, while Martin Brodeur stopped both attempts on him.
