February 19, 2011 Game 59: 7th Straight: Devils Beat Hurricanes 4-1
The New Jersey Devils skated to a 4-1 victory over the Hurricanes
in Raleight on Saturday, February 19, 2011.
Dainius Zubrus tipped the puck past Cam Ward just 1:14 into the
first period to give New Jersey an early 1-0 lead. Zubrus' 12th goal of
the season was assisted by Mark Fayne and Patrik Elias.
Henrik Tallinder increased the Devils lead with a goal at 11:17.
Ilya Kovalchuk and Nick Palmieri assisted on Tallinder's third goal of
the season.
A goal from Brian Rolston at 16:14 made it 3-0 New Jersey.
Rolston's 10th goal of the season was assisted by Patrik Elias and Anton
Volchenkov.
Neither team scored in the second period.
Patrick Dwyer beat Johan Hedberg at 6:49 of the third period to
get the Hurricanes on the board.
Dainius Zubrus scored his second goal of the game at 11:43 to
make it 4-1 New Jersey. Patrik Elias scored his 800th career point with
the only assist on Zubrus' goal.
