December 31, 2010 Game 37: Devils BEAT Thrashers 3-1
The New Jersey Devils beat the Atlanta Thrashers 3-1 at the
Prudential Center on Friday, December 31, 2010.
Mark Fayne beat Chris Mason just 1:18 into the first period to
give the Devils an early 1-0 lead. Jason Arnott was credited with the
only assist on Fayne's second goal of the season.
1:01 into the second period, Jamie Langenbrunner scored to give
New Jersey a 2 goal lead. Langenbrunner's fourth goal of the season was
assisted by Jason Arnott.
Dustin Byfuglien got the Thrashers on the board with a goal that
beat John Hedberg at 12:14 of the third period.
Ilya Kovalchuk scored on a breakaway at 13:40 to give the Devils
another 2 goal lead. Kovalchuk's ninth goal of the season was scored
unassisted.
