April 14, 2010R1 G1: Flyers Beat Devils 2-1
The New Jersey Devils lost 1-2 to the Philadelphia Flyers at the
Prudential Center on Wednesday, April 14, 2010. The win gives the Flyers
a 1-0 lead in the first round best-of-seven series.
Neither team scored in the first period, in which the Devils
outshot the Flyers 9-4.
Chris Pronger scored on a power-play - beating Martin Brodeur at
9:25 of the second period to give Philadelphia a 1-0 lead. Mike Richards
made it 2-0 with a goal at 16:27.
The Flyers outshot the Devils 8-6 in the second period, which
ended with Philadelphia leading 2-0.
Travis Zajac finally got New Jersey on the board with a goal that
beat Brian Boucher at 17:17 of the third period. Andy Greene and Zach
Parise assisted on the goal.
The Flyers only had two shots on goal in the third period - they
were content to protect their lead. New Jersey did not take advantage of
the "extra" power-play time they had (6 minutes to the Flyers 4 in the third
