April 03, 2010 Game 78: Devils Shutout Hurricanes 4-0
The New Jersey Devils defeated the Hurricanes 4-0 in Raleigh,
North Carolina on Saturday, April 3, 2010.
Dainius Zubrus beat Cam Ward at 13:13 on a power-play to give the
Devils a 1-0 lead. Zach Parise and Andy Greene assisted on Zubrus' ninth
goal of the season.
Patrik Elias made it 2-0 with a goal at 18:18. Elias' 16th
goal of the season was assisted by Ilya Kovalchuk and David Clarkson.
The Devils outshot the Hurricanes 12-7 in the first period, which
ended with the Devils leading 2-0.
Neither team scored in the second period, in which the Devils
outshot the Hurricanes 10-7.
Zach Parise scored at 7:34 of the third period to give New Jersey
a 3-0 lead. Dainius Zubrus was credited with the only assist on Parise's
36th goal of the season.
David Clarkson scored an empty net goal at 18:28 to make it a 4-0
victory. Patrik Elias and Ilya Kovalchuk assisted on Clarkson's 10th
goal of the season.
