The New Jersey Devils lost 1-5 in Philadelphia to the Flyers on
Sunday, March 28, 2010.
Matt Carle beat Martin Brodeur just 53 seconds into the game to
give the Flyers a 1-0 lead. Ville Leino added to the Flyers lead with a
goal at 8:18.
The Flyers outshot the Devils 12-8 in the first period, which
ended with the Flyers leading 2-0.
A power-play goal from Kimmo Timonen just 45 seconds into the
second period gave Philadelphia a 3 goal lead. Lukas Krajicek made it
4-0 with a goal at 19:20.
The Devils outshot the Flyers 14-7 in the second period, but the
Flyers led 4-0 after 40 minutes of play.
Ilya Kovalchuk got the Devils on the board with a goal that beat
Brian Boucher at 10:20 of the third period. Brian Rolston and Andy
Greene assisted on Kovalchuk's 39th goal of the season.
Just 32 seconds after Kovalchuk's goal, Simon Gagne scored on
Yann Danis who started the third period in net for New Jersey, to regain the
four goal lead for the Flyers.
