January 20, 2010 Game 48: Marty & Devils Shutout Panthers 2-0
The New Jersey Devils skated to a 2-0 shutout victory over the
Florida Panthers on Wednesday, January 20, 2010. The shutout was number
108 of Martin Brodeur's career.
Neither team scored in the first period, in which the Devils
outshot the Panthers 12-5.
Travis Zajac gave the Devils a 1-0 lead with a goal that beat
Tomas Vokoun at 18:30 of the second period. Zach Parise and Nick
Palmieri assisted on Zajac's 14th goal of the season.
The Devils outshot the Panthers 13-8 in the second period, which
ended with New Jersey leading 1-0.
Dean McAmmond added an empty net goal with 1 second remaining in
the third period to make it a 2-0 Devils victory. Bryce Salvador and
Andy Greene assisted on McAmmond's fifth goal of the season.
