January 05, 2010 Game 41: Devils Toss Stars a 4-0 Beating
The New Jersey Devils will crushed the Dallas Stars 4-0 at the
Prudential Center on Tuesday, January 5, 2010.
Patrik Elias beat Alex Auld at 18:02 of the first period to give
New Jersey a 1-0 lead. Brian Rolston and Dean McAmmond assisted on
Elias' ninth goal of the season.
The Devils outshot the Stars 11-7 in the first period, which
ended with New Jersey leading 1-0.
Patrik Elias scored his second goal of the game at 6:59 of the
second period. The goal was scored unassisted.
Travis Zajac added a power-play goal at 9:36 to make it a 3-0
Devils lead. Zajac's 10th goal of the season was assisted by Jamie
Langenbrunner and Niclas Bergfors.
Zach Parise scored at 15:07 to increase the Devils lead to four
goals. Jamie Langenbrunner and Travis Zajac assisted on Parise's 18th
goal of the season.
New Jersey led 4-0 at the end of the second period. The
Devils outshot the Stars 11-8 in the period.
The Stars outshot the Devils 13-5 in the third period, but were
unable to put the puck past Martin Brodeur, who earned his 106th career shutout
(fifth of the season).
