The New Jersey Devils lost 2-4 at home to the Florida Panthers
on Friday, December 11, 2009.
Jordan Leopold beat Martin Brodeur 3:53 into the first period to
give Florida a 1-0 lead.
The Devils outshot the Panthers 9-4 in the first period, which
ended with the Panthers leading 1-0.
A power-play goal from Michael Frolik at 2:24 of the second
period to increase Florida's lead. Shawn Matthias made it 3-0 Florida
with a goal at 3:29.
Brian Rolston got the Devils on the board with a goal that beat
Ex-Devil Scott Clemensen at 7:16. Patrik Elias and Jamie Langenbrunner
assisted on Rolston's 11th goal of the season.
The second period ended with the Panthers leading 3-1. The
Panthers outshot the Devils 13-11 in the period.
Dean McAmmond scored an unassisted goal just 1:05 into the third
period to cut the Panthers' lead to a single goal. The goal was the
first of the season for McAmmond.
Michael Frolik scored his second goal of the game on a breakaway
at 2:23 to give Florida a 4-2 lead.
