December 02, 2009 Game 25: Canucks Spank Devils 5-2
The New Jersey Devils lost 2-5 at home to the Vancouver Canucks
on Wednesday, December 2, 2009.
Alexandre Burrows tipped the puck past Martin Brodeur at 6:33 of
the first period to give Vancouver a 1-0 lead. Sami Salo made it 2-0
with a goal at 10:03 and Daniel Sedin scored at 12:32 to give the Canucks a
commanding 3-0 lead.
Niclas Bergfors got the Devils on the board with a goal that beat
Roberto Luongo at 16:05. Andy Greene and Colin White assisted on
Bergfors' seventh goal of the season.
Travis Zajac cut Vancouver's lead to a single goal with just 6
seconds remaining in the first period. Jamie Langenbrunner was credited
with the only assist on Zajac's eighth goal of the season.
The Canucks outshot the Devils 9-7 in the first period, which
ended with Vancouver leading 3-2.
The shots were even, 10-10 in the second period, in which no
goals were scored.
Alexander Edler scored for Vancouver just 1:36 into the third
period and Jannik Hansen made it 5-2 with a goal at 5:18.
