November 06, 2009 Game 14: Devils Beat Islanders 2-1
The New Jersey Devils defeated the New York Islanders 2-1 at the
Prudential Center on Friday, November 6, 2009.
Frans Nielson beat Yann Danis at 6:23 of the first period to give
the Islanders an early 1-0 lead.
The Devils outshot the Islanders 11-9 in the first perod, though
New York led 1-0 at the end of the period.
Cory Murphy put the puck past Martin Biron at 2:38 of the second
period to tie the game, 1-1. Ilkka Pikkarainen and Rod Pelley assisted
on Murphy's first goal of the season.
A power-play goal from Brian Rolston at 13:40, gave the Devils
their first lead of the game. Andy Greene and David Clarkson assisted on
Rolston's fourth goal of the season.
The Devils outshot the Islanders 11-7 in the second period, which
ended with the Devils leading, 2-1.
Neither team scored in the third period. The Devils
oushot the Islanders 9-8 in the third period and 31-24 in the game.
