November 04, 2009Game 13: Devils Beat Capitals 3-2
The New Jersey Devils skated to a 3-2 victory over the Washington
Capitals at home on Wednesday, November 4, 2009.
Tyler Sloan beat Martin Brodeur at 17:10 of the first period to
give the Capitals a 1-0 lead.
Washington outshot New Jersey 11-6 in the first period, which
ended with the Capitals leading, 1-0.
Brian Rolston's third goal of the season came at 3:33 of the
second period to tie the game, 1-1. The goal which beat Semyon Varlamov
was assisted by Rob Niedermayer and Jamie Langenbrunner.
The second period ended with the game tied, 1-1. The
Devils outshot the Caps 11-6 in the period.
Niclas Bergfors scored at 11:20 of the third to give the Devils
a 2-1 ead. Zach Parise and Travis Zajac asssited on the power-play
Bergfors gave the Devils a two goal lead with his second
power-play goal of the game at 15:10. Travis Zajac and Andy Greene
assisted on the goal.
Tomas Fleischmann got the Capitals within a goal when he scored
