The New Jersey Devils shutout the Islanders 3-0 in New York
on Wednesday, October 1, 2008.
Zach Parise gave the Devils a 1-0 lead with a short-handed goal
that beat Joey MacDonald at 14:24 of the first period.
The Devils outshot the Islanders 10-4 in the first period, which
ended with New Jersey leading 1-0.
The Devils took a two goal lead when Patrik Elias scored at 5:22
of the second period. Brian Rolston and Brian Gionta assisted on the
goal.
Anssi Salmela beat MacDonald at 14:03 of the third period to make
it a 3-0 Devils lead. Patrik Elias and Colin White assited on the goal.
