April 02, 2008 Game 80: Devils Beat Bruins: 3-2 (Shootout)
The New Jersey Devils defeated the Boston Bruins 3-2 at home in a
shootout on Wednesday, April 2, 2008.
Dainius Zubrus gave the Devils a 1-0 lead with a goal that beat
Tim Thomas at 3:14 of the first period. Mike Rupp and Colin White
assisted on Zubrus' 13th goal of the season.
The Bruins outshot the Devils 9-3 in the first period, which
ended with the Devils leading, 1-0.
Dennis Wideman tied the game with a 5 on 3 power-play goal just
37 seconds into the second period. Milan Lucic added a goal for Boston
at 16:33 to give the Bruins a 2-1 lead.
The second period came to a close with Boston leading 2-1.
The Devils outshot the Bruins 11-7 in the period.
David Clarkson tied the game 2-2, scoring at 14:32 of the third
period. Mike Rupp and Dainius Zubrus assisted on Clarkson's 9th goal of
the season.
