March 04, 2008 Game 67: Devils Defeat Maple Leafs 4-1
The New Jersey Devils beat the Maple Leafs 4-1 in Toronto,
on Tuesday, March 4, 2008.
Zach Parise beat Vesa Toskala at 11:22 of the first period to
give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Parise's 26th goal of the season was
assisted by Jamie Langenbrunner.
The Maple Leafs outshot the Devils 14-5 in the first period,
which ended with the Devils leading 1-0.
Brian Gionta added a power-play goal at 5:11 of the second period
to give New Jersey a 2-0 lead. Gionta's 19th goal of the season was
assisted by Dainius Zubrus and Sheldon Brookbank.
Nikolai Antropov got the Maple Leafs on the board with a goal that
beat Martin Brodeur at 16:47.
The second period ended with the Devils leading the Leafs, 2-1.
Toronto outshot New Jersey 10-9 in the period.
David Clarkson took a great pass and put it past Toskala at 9:21
of the third period. John Madden and Sergei Brylin assisted on
Clarkson's eighth goal of the season.
Zach Parise scored his second goal of the game at 10:52 to
increase the Devils lead to 3 goals. Patrik Elias and Jay Pandolfo
assisted on the goal.
