March 01, 2008 Game 66: Habs Drop Devils, 2-1
The New Jersey Devils lost 2-1 to the Canadiens in Montreal on
Saturday, March 1, 2008.
Neither team scored a goal, but the Devils outshot the Canadiens
13-8 in the first period.
Mark Streit gave the Habs a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal that
beat Martin Brodeur at 6:11 of the second period.
Brian Gionta tied the game with a goal that beat Carey Price at
13:37. Mike Mottau and Colin White assisted on Gionta's 18th goal of the
season.
The second period ended with the game tied, 1-1. The
Devils outshot the Habs 10-8 in the period.
The Canadiens took a 2-1 lead at 14:47 of the third period, when
Andrei Kastsitsyn scored a power-play goal.
