February 15, 2008 Game 58: Devils Lose To Thrashers 3-4 In Shootout
The New Jersey Devils lost 3-4 at home to the Atlanta Thrashers
in a shootout on Friday, February 15, 2008.
Zach Parise beat John Hedberg at 17:10 of the first period to
give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Patrik Elias and Jamie Langenbrunner
assisted on Parise's 21st goal of the season.
The Devils outshot the Thrashers 11-9 in the first period, and
led 1-0.
Brian Gionta made it 2-0 with a power-play goal at 3:09 of the
second period. Travis Zajac and Dainius Zubrus assisted on Gionta's 15th
goal of the season.
Ilya Kovalchuk got the Thrashers on the board with a goal just 50
seconds after Gionta's goal. Todd White tied the game with a power-play
goal that beat Martin Brodeur at 11:31.
John Madden scored to re-gain the lead for New Jersey at 8:45 of
the third period. Madden's 15th goal of the season was assisted by Jay
Pandolfo and Sergei Brylin.
Marian Hossa tied the game with 19 seconds remaining in
regulation time & the Atlanta net empty.
