February 08, 2008 Game 55: Devils Lose 1-2 to Ducks
The New Jersey Devils were defeated 1-2 at home by the Anaheim
Ducks on Friday, February 8, 2008.
Ryan Carter beat Martin Brodeur at 10:12 of the first period to
give the Ducks a 1-0 lead. Carter scored again at 17:53 to increase the
Ducks lead to two goals.
The first period ended with the Ducks leading the Devils, 2-0.
The Ducks outshot the Devils 9-8 in the period.
Vitaly Vishnevski beat Jonas Hiler at 15:36 of the second period
to get the Devils on the board. Vishnevski's second goal of the season
was assisted by David Clarkson and John Madden.
The Devils outshot the Ducks 12-6 in the second period, which
ended with the Ducks leading, 2-1.
Neither team scored in the third period, though the Devils
outshot the Ducks 15-9 in the period and 35-24 in the game.
