February 01, 2008 Game 51: Rangers Defeat Devils 3-1
The New Jersey Devils were defeated by the New York Rangers, 3-1
at home on Friday, February 1, 2008. The Devils have lost all five
meetings with the Rangers thus far this season.
Brandon Dubinsky gave the Rangers an early 1-0 lead when he beat
Martin Brodeur just 4:00 into the first period.
The Devils outshot the Ranger 15-9 in the first period, but
trailed 0-1 after the first 20 minutes.
Chris Drury made it 2-0 Rangers with a goal at 2:06 of the second
period.
Zach Parise got the Devils on the board with a goal at 5:48.
Jamie Langenbrunner and Johnny Oduya assisted on Parise's 19th goal of
the season.
The Devils outshot the Rangers 14-11 in the second period, which
ended with the Rangers leading, 2-1.
