December 02, 2007 Game 26: Devils Beat Thrashers 3-2 Shootout
The New Jersey Devils won a 3-2 shootout against the Atlanta
Thrashers at home on Sunday, December 2, 2007.
Todd White scored a power-play goal that beat Martin Brodeur at
14:51 of the first period to give the Thrashers a 1-0 lead.
Sergei Brylin tied the game with a goal that beat Kari Lehtonen
with just 51 seconds remaining in the first period. Paul Martin and John
Madden assisted on Brylin's third goal of the season.
The score was tied, 1-1, and the shots were even, 9-9 at the end
of the first period.
John Madden gave the Devils a 2-1 lead with a goal at 15:46 of
the second period. Madden's seventh goal of the season was assisted by
Karel Rachunkek.
The Devils outshot the Thrashers 12-3 in the second period, which
ended with the Deviles leading 2-1.
Ilya Kovalchuk tied the game with a goal at 9:34 of the third
period.
