November 08, 2007 Game 15: Devils BEAT Flyers 4-1
The New Jersey Devils defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 4-1 at the
Prudential Center on Thursday, November 8, 2007.
The Flyers took the first lead of the game with a power-play goal
from Mike Knuble that beat Martin Brodeur at 12:20 of the first period.
Brian Gionta tied the game with a goal that beat Martin Biron at
14:28. Gionta's fourth goal of the season was assisted by Karel
Rachunek and Travis Zajac.
Dainius Zubrus gave the Devils a lead with a goal just 18 seconds
after Gionta's goal. Jay Pandolfo and Paul Martin assisted on Zubrus'
first goal of the season.
Dainius scored his second goal of the game with just 30 seconds
remaining in the period to give the Devils a 2 goal lead. David Clarkson
and Johnny Oduya assisted on the goal.
The first period ended with New Jersey leading 3-1. The
Devils outshot the Flyers 14-6 in the period.
Rod Pelley made it a 3 goal Devils lead just 2:48 into the second
period. The goal that removed Biron from the Flyers net was assisted by
Sergei Brylin. The goal was Pelley's first career NHL goal.
The Devils outshot the Flyers 16-2 in the second period, which
ended with New Jersey leading 4-1.
There were no goals scored in the third period. The Devils
outshot the Flyers 9-6 in the third period and 39-14 in the game.
