October 17, 2007 Game 6: Devils Beat Penguins 5-4
The New Jersey Devils beat the Penguins 5-4 in Pittsburgh on
Wednesday, October 17, 2007.
Jay Pandolfo beat Marc-Andre Fleury at 6:46 of the first period
to give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Pandolfo's second goal of the season was
assisted by David Clarkson and John Madden.
John Madden scored at 9:58 to increase the Devils lead to 2-0.
Madden's fourth goal of the season was assisted by David Clarkson and
Jay Pandolfo.
Maxime Talbot beat Martin Brodeur at 15:58 to get the Penguins on
the board. Gary Roberts tied the game with a power-play goal at
17:48.
The Devils outshot the Penguins 14-10 in the first period, which
ended with the score tied, 2-2.
Sergei Gonchar scored a power-play goal just 52 seconds into the
second period to give the Penguins a 3-2 lead.
Travis Zajac tied the game with a power-play goal at 6:57.
Zach Parise and Paul Martin assisted on Zajac's second goal of the
season.
Travis Zajac scored his second goal of the game on a power-play
at 14:48 of the second period. Brian Gionta and Zach Parise assisted on
the goal.
Evgeni Malkin tied the game with a 5 on 3 power-play goal at
18:42.
The second period ended with the game tied, 4-4. The Pens
outshot the Devils 15-11 in the period.
Arron Asham gave the Devils a 5-4 lead with a goal at 10:38 of
the third period. Zach Parise and Patrik Elias assisted on Asham's
second goal of the season.
The Devils outshot the Penguins 10-5 in the third period and
35-30 in the game.
