October 08, 2007 Game 3: Devils Lose 2-4 to the Senators
The New Jersey Devils lost 2-4 to the Senators in Ottawa on
Monday, October 8, 2007.
Chris Kelly beat Martin Brodeur at 4:37 of the first period to
give the Senators a 1-0 lead. Dany Heatley made it 2-0 with a goal at
15:16.
The Senators outshot the Devils 17-9 in the first period, which
ended with Ottawa leading, 2-0.
Arron Asham got the Devils on the board late in the second
period, at 18:17 to cut the Senators lead to one goal. Asham's first
goal of the season was assisted by Dainius Zubrus and Zach Parise.
The second period ended with Ottawa leading, 2-1. The
Devils outshot the Senators 9-7 in the period.
Wade Redden gave the Sens a 3-1 lead with a goal at 5:33 of the
third period.
Zach Parise scored his first goal of the season with a goal that
beat Martin Gerber at 7:29. Andy Greene and Karel Rachunek assisted on
the goal.
Daniel Alfredsson added an empty net goal with just 49 seconds
left in the game to seal the Devils loss.
The Senators outshot the Devils 37-29 in the game.
