April 16, 2007 R1 Game 3: Devils Fall 2-3 to Lightning in Tampa
The New Jersey Devils lost 2-3 in Tampa Bay to the Lightning for
Game 3 of Round 1 of the 2007 Stanley Cup Playoffs NOW on Monday, April 16,
2007. The Lightning now lead the best-of-seven series 2-1.
Vincent Lecavalier beat Martin Brodeur at 9:06 of the first
period on a power-play to give the Lightning a 1-0 lead.
The Devils outshot the Lightning 9-5 in the first period, which
ended with Tampa Bay leading 1-0.
John Madden tied the game with a goal that beat Johan Holmqvist
at 17:27 of the second period. Sergei Brylin and Brad Lukowich assisted
on Madden's first goal of the post-season.
The second period ended with the game tied, 1-1. The
Lightning outshot the Devils 9-7 in the period.
Brad Richards regained the Lightning lead with a goal just 1:09
into the third period.
Zach Parise tied the game with a shot that deflected off of Dan
Boyle and into the back of the Lightning net at 4:46. Travis Zajac and
Jamie Langenbrunner assisted on Parise's fourth goal of the playoffs.
Vinnie Prospal gave the Lightning their third lead of the game
with a goal at 13:31.
