The New Jersey Devils lost 3-4 in Buffalo to the Sabres on
Wednesday, March 28, 2007.
The Devils outshot the Sabres 9-6 in the first period, which
Jochen Hecht beat Martin Brodeur at 1:55 of the second period to
give the Sabres a 1-0 lead.
Scott Gomez tied the game with a 4 on 4 goal that beat Ryan
Miller at 6:42. Gomez's 13th goal of the season was assisted by Patrik
Elias and Brian Rafalski.
The second period ended with the teams tied, 1-1. The
Devils outshot the Sabres 11-9 in the period.
Daniel Paille beat Brodeur at 7:25 of the third period to give
the Sabres a 2-1 lead. Jochen Hecht scored his second goal of the game
at 11:47, making it 3-1 Buffalo.
Paul Martin cut the Sabres lead to one goal when he scored at
13:49. Martin's third goal of the season was assisted by Zach Parise
and Travis Zajac.
Ales Kotalik gave Buffalo a 4-2 lead with a goal that beat
Brodeur at 15:52.
Zach Parise scored at 19:58 of the third period to cut the Sabres
lead to 1 goal, but it was too late. Parise's 31st goal of the season
was assisted by Travis Zajac and Scott Gomez.
